About the Job

Maine Recycling is seeking an experienced and reliable Forklift Operator to join our team at our fast-paced bottle and aluminum can recycling facility in Lisbon Falls, Maine. You will be responsible for loading and unloading large bales of recycled aluminum, plastic, and cardboard. You must possess good hand-eye coordination, and be attentive to detail.

Responsibilities:
  • Being at work on time and maintaining satisfactory attendance.
  • Transporting materials to different locations within the facility.
  • Loading bales of processed returnable bottles, cans, and cardboard for shipment.
  • Ensuring that loads are secure before transport.
  • Ensuring the proper and safe operating condition of the forklift.
  • Adhering to forklift operation safety standards.
Position Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be in good physical condition.
  • Must be able to understand and follow instructions.
  • Must be able to lift and carry heavy items, as required.
  • Possess a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Starting Pay: Negotiable, depending on experience.

Maine Recycling currently acts as a pickup and processing agent for some of the largest beverage manufacturers in Northern New England. Our fleet of over 30 trucks and 200 trailers enables us to provide statewide pickup services for both new and existing beverage distributors in Maine. MRC currently employs 80 to 100 employees operating from our Lisbon Falls location and owns and operates Speedy Redemption in Topsham.
