Electrical Controls Designer

Contract-to-Hire | Blaine, MN | $35-$45/hour
We are seeking a Controls Designer with strong AutoCAD Electrical skills to join our engineering team. In this role, you will create detailed electrical design packages for industrial automation and control systems. This is a contract-to-hire position with competitive pay and long-term growth potential.
Responsibilities:
- Create and update electrical schematics, panel layouts, and wiring diagrams using AutoCAD Electrical
- Develop bills of materials (BOMs) and ensure documentation accuracy
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and panel builders to meet project specifications
- Interpret customer requirements and integrate them into designs
- Ensure compliance with NEC, UL, and NFPA 79 standards
- Support panel fabrication, assembly, and commissioning processes
- Maintain organized project files and revision control
- 3+ years in controls or electrical design
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical
- Knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, relays, and industrial automation components
- Familiarity with NEC, UL, and NFPA standards
- Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
- High attention to detail and organizational skills
