WRA is seeking an experienced Water Resources Engineer to join our Baltimore office. The ideal candidate will have 11 to 15 years of relevant experience in water resources engineering, with a proven ability to deliver high-quality projects across both public and private sectors. A Maryland PE license is required.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support the planning, analysis, design, and permitting of water resources projects, including:
- Stormwater management
- Hydrologic and hydraulic modeling
- Dam and embankment evaluation and breach modeling
- Floodplain studies
- Erosion and sediment control
- Prepare engineering plans, reports, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Manage and mentor junior engineering staff and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Conduct field investigations and site assessments.
- Coordinate with clients, regulatory agencies, and other project stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Assist with proposal development and business development initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related field from an ABET accredited program; Master's degree preferred.
- 11-15 years of progressive experience in water resources engineering.
- Active Maryland Professional Engineer (PE) license (or ability to obtain within 6 months, if registered elsewhere).
- Proficiency in water resources modeling software such as HEC-RAS (1D and 2D), HEC-HMS, SWMM, TR-55, and similar.
- Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation preferred.
- Strong understanding of Maryland environmental regulations and permitting processes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.

The expected compensation range for this position is $100,000.00 - $180,000.00 annually. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience
