Job Summary

We are seeking a meticulous and dedicated Payment Posting Specialist to join our growing team. The Payment Posting Specialist will be responsible for posting medical payments and adjustments into the patient accounting system from various insurance companies and patients. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong numerical skills, and the ability to work efficiently and accurately.

Duties/Responsibilities
  • Accurately posts payments and adjustments received from insurance companies and patients into the patient accounting system.
  • Interprets Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and Electronic Remittance Advice (ERAs) documents to correctly identify and post the appropriate amounts.
  • Ensures all denials and zero-payments are reviewed and categorized for further analysis.
  • Identifies discrepancies in payment and reports any consistent issues to the management team for resolution.
  • Maintains accurate records and provides timely follow-ups for all outstanding balances.
  • Works in tandem with the medical billing team to ensure patient accounts reflect the correct balance.
  • Assists in the resolution of patient inquiries related to their account balances.
  • Helps maintain compliance with healthcare billing standards and regulations.
  • Performs administrative duties as needed.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities
  • Proficiency in healthcare billing software.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain high levels of accuracy.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with team members.
  • Ability to interpret and understand EOBs and ERAs.
