Summary of Duties
  • First point of contact in most offices for customers entering the physical office or contacting through the online application portal or phone.
  • Contribute to a welcoming environment for families interacting with the department.
  • Greet and assist Oregonians through a trauma?informed lens.
  • Help customers apply for programs such as medical, TANF, domestic violence services, SNAP, ERDC, long?term care, answering case status inquiries and providing community resource information.
  • Collaborate within a rotating team to support the offices business needs.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Two years of experience in interviewing or substantial people contact involving a high volume of paperwork.
  • College?level coursework may substitute experience on a year?for?year basis.
Essential Attributes
  • Customer Service: Professional demeanor delivering quality service via phone, in writing, or in person.
  • Computer Skills: Knowledge of computers, web browsers, databases, and programs such as Microsoft and general office equipment.
  • Communication: Ability to convey complex rules, simplify information, and confirm comprehension.
  • Collaborative Team Member: Experience building inclusive relationships with teammates.
  • Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Knowledge of data entry and follow?up actions.
  • Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: Proven commitment to an inclusive, anti?racist workplace.
Working Conditions
  • Front?office workstation; not remote.
  • Schedule: MondayFriday, 8:30?am 5:30?pm.
  • Interaction with public experiencing emotional/financial stress.
  • Prolonged computer/telephone use required.
Background Checks and Requirements
  • Criminal history/background check for selected finalists.
  • No visa sponsorship. I?9 and E?Verify required.
