About The Position
Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM) Experience: Strong Pediatric ICU and CVICU experience required. Traveler must have completed two years of acute care experience within the last three years. License: Must have a valid Registered Nurse license. Certifications: BLS - must be certified through the American Heart Association only. PALS - must be certified through the American Heart Association. Must-Have: Telemetry experience is required. Basic arrhythmia experience is required. Traveler will be required to pass a telemetry test prior to being cleared to start. Description: We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join a highly skilled and committed multidisciplinary team. The focus is on providing family-centered care to critically ill or injured children and their families. This unit provides comprehensive care for patients with medical and surgical problems including acute head injuries, critical neurological disorders, pulmonary diseases, cardiac anomalies, organ transplantation, multi-system organ failure, and ECMO. The work environment includes a 21-bed unit with a patient ratio of 1:1 to 1:2. Strong Pediatric ICU and CVICU experience is essential, as well as cardiac step-down and general cardiac experience. Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams. Travelers may be required to float to different units based on staffing needs. Weekend shifts and some holiday coverage are necessary.
