Department Details

The Good Samaritan rehabilitation team is looking for a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant to enhance our caring approach. Our therapy program serves long-term care residents and short-term rehab patients, addressing neurological, orthopedic, and balance/falls/gait issues. We offer a flexible schedule with no night or weekend shifts.

Job Summary

As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will:

  • Assist patients with therapy activities and exercises outlined in their treatment plans, under the guidance of a physical therapist.
  • Improve the quality of life and daily functioning of our patients through dedicated therapeutic support.
  • Monitor, document, and deliver therapy services to individuals with physical, cognitive, and developmental impairments.
  • Select and implement therapeutic activities and make necessary modifications based on each patient's needs and goals.
  • Communicate effectively with the supervising physical therapist regarding patient responses and progress.
  • Stay informed about each patient's targeted therapy outcomes and document related achievements.
  • Follow established clinical practice guidelines to ensure the highest standard of care.
  • Attend to other related duties as needed.

You may work with individuals receiving therapy in post-acute, long-term care, and home health settings.

Qualifications

To be eligible, you must possess:

  • A degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program approved by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).
  • Licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the state of practice.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within six months of employment.
  • A valid driver's license may be necessary for certain roles.
