Who you are:

As a Senior Software Architect, you will be pivotal in defining Hometap's technological vision. You will play a key role in designing and developing both new and existing products while ensuring high-quality standards through adherence to established development processes. You will lead efforts to implement effective and scalable development workflows, design innovative solutions, and guide the engineering team while taking on a technical lead position in projects. We are looking for someone with substantial software architecture expertise who is collaborative and passionate about creating tools that truly benefit homeowners.

What you'll do:

1. Work alongside Hometap's business stakeholders and technical team to identify functional and non-functional requirements for new features or applications.
2. Develop, propose, and document architectural designs, and implement systems that support business goals.
3. Provide guidance on coding and design practices that promote resilient, maintainable systems, leveraging modern Python principles where relevant.
4. Assess and estimate necessary work, provide insights on system designs, track dependencies, report on progress, identify blockers, and ensure adherence to architectural guidelines.
5. Create and implement proof-of-concept solutions for new technologies or design recommendations.
6. Evaluate, advise, and endorse architecture patterns, implementation methodologies, and appropriate platforms or tooling choices.
7. Monitor the development team's progress to ensure alignment with initial designs.
8. Lead software development initiatives and conduct design and code reviews.

What you bring:

• A minimum of 2 years experience as a Software Architect, with a proven history of designing and scaling complex systems.
• At least 7 years of professional software development experience, with deep expertise in Python (Django experience preferred).
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written, verbal, and listening), with the ability to cultivate positive working relationships across various functions and levels within the organization.
• A solid understanding of modern cloud infrastructure development and technology stacks.
• Experience in designing and writing high-quality application code using emerging technologies and frameworks, primarily targeting cloud-based ecosystems (AWS Preferred).
