UPMC Harrisburg Maternal Fetal Medicine is looking for an experienced OB Sonographer to lead our team. Experience with fetal ultrasound is required. Three days of clinical scanning approximately 7 to 8 patients per day and two days performing administrative work.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists with telemedicine training as needed.

  • May be responsible for High Level Disinfection of devices, supplies and/or equipment

  • Assists with quality assurance projects with other supervisors in the ultrasound department as well as the medical director and assists in the development of exam protocols.

  • Creates and updates monthly front desk work schedules.

  • Assists in talent acquisition interviews for successful recruitment of technologist candidates.

  • Leads orientation and training for new hires, students and other medical personnel; ensures competencies are completed in the required time frame. Responsible for offering remediation with technologists, where necessary.

  • Performs ultrasonic diagnostic examinations and job duties in accordance with Level III OB Specialist.

  • Coordinates daily workflow and schedule of the ultrasound department and acts as a clinical leader by assisting supervisor in staffing levels based on call offs, vacations, etc. and training needs.

  • Participates in either supervisor call pool or sonographer call pool for off shift coverage including holidays

  • Completion of formal training in an Ultrasound program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) required.

  • 4 years of ultrasound experience required.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

RDMS OB/Gyn registry required. FMF NT Certification required. CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)

  • Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting

  • Act 33

  • Act 73 FBI Clearance
