Project Manager

Location: Virginia Beach, VA

Project Manager Job Duties :

Manages a portfolio of projects and works with business areas to prioritize work requests, using standard project methodology.
Consults with Subject Matter Experts (SME) to document existing process, research best practices and propose future process in the spirit of continuous improvement. Identifies ways to resolve scope, schedule, budget, and quality issues.
Defines business requirements based on business needs and gaps collaboratively with the SME. Applies project methodology to include planning, organizing, monitoring, managing budget, project closure activities and enforcing best practices.
Creates deliverables such as business process flows, business requirements, test plans, test scripts, and project plans. Works with stakeholders to manage deliverables and project timeline. Provides status reporting to internal and external stakeholders on a regular basis.
Leads matrixes teams to common solutions. Navigates group dynamics by motivating the team to work together in the most efficient and effective manner while working to resolve conflict.
Responsible for project communications to leadership, the stakeholder community, and the project team.
Removes, resolves, or escalates roadblocks for team members in a timely manner. Conducts in-depth root cause analyses, including budget discrepancies.
Assists in defining business metrics to manage and improve processes
Ensures buy-in by key stakeholders of recommended solutions.
Highlights process changes and provides input on potential impact to the organization and/or roles and participates in Change Management deliverables.
Conducts formal lessons learned sessions with project teams to capture and analyze lessons learned from related projects to identify opportunities for improvement/reuse.
Supports and enforces standards and methodologies around business process development, project management and change management.

Minimum/Special/Additional Requirements:
Requires any combination of education (above the high school level) and/or experience equivalent to five (5) years in fields utilizing the required knowledge, skills and abilities, and associated with such positions as project manager; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Must have, or obtain, a current and valid Virginia or North Carolina driver's license in accordance with Virginia or North Carolina DMV driver's license eligibility requirements.
Mid-Level 4-6 years' experience
Senior Level 7+ years' experience

Preferred Qualifications:
PMP Certification, or Information Technology Project Manager experience.
Agile and Waterfall Experience
Strong leadership, influence, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to prioritize multiple demands in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
Strong Project Management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Superior working knowledge of MS Office applications (Project, Visio, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook).
A customer service mindset.
