Company Overview: Join our dedicated team at Lord Chamberlain, a family-owned skilled nursing facility located in Stratford, Connecticut. We have two specialized units: one offering 60 beds for short-term rehabilitation and another with 190 beds focusing on long-term care. We are excited to welcome a new Infection Control Nurse to our team
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement an effective system for detecting, evaluating, recording, and reporting infections among facility personnel.
- Collaborate with the personnel director to enhance our employee health services program, which includes individual counseling.
- Provide thorough employee counseling as part of our infection control and employee health initiatives.
- Work collaboratively to assess and improve control practices and aseptic techniques, ensuring robust sanitation practices are maintained throughout the facility.
- Establish and maintain criteria to classify routine and anticipated job-related tasks to accurately identify and record tasks involving exposure to blood and body fluids.

Requirements:
- A minimum of a Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university and graduation from a Connecticut approved RN program.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and spoken.
- Physical capability to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 40 pounds to a height of 3 feet, and to carry such weight a minimum distance of 4 feet.
