Job Summary:

The Cloud Architect is responsible for architecture and design for cloud-native and hybrid cloud applications. This role involves guiding software engineers and architects using Agile methodology, focusing on continuous delivery and software engineering craftsmanship. The Cloud Architect will also mentor junior architects and software engineers while driving cloud adoption strategies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Guide small teams of software engineers and architects using Agile methodologies.
  • Provide mentoring and coaching to junior architects and software engineering staff.
  • Act as a role model for application architects and engineers.
  • Collaborate on cloud vision, strategy, and application migration roadmap.
  • Gain buy-in from business and IT area leads for cloud adoption.
  • Assess the current state architecture and recommend future state architecture using cloud technologies.
  • Develop reusable technical reference architectures to support cloud adoption.
  • Perform detailed analysis of applications, map them to cloud functions, and enable application migration to the cloud.
  • Create data and transition architectures that align with the future cloud strategy.
  • Provide architecture leadership for large-scale migrations of data center-hosted applications to the cloud.
Requirements:
  • 8+ years of related work experience in cloud architecture.
  • 2+ years of experience architecting applications for execution in Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • 4+ years of experience designing systems using cloud-based big data technologies, including:
    • AWS EMR
    • AWS Kinesis
    • Sqoop
    • Spark
    • Hive
    • Redshift
    • Snowflake
  • Expertise in high-volume, low-latency, and cloud-native 12-factor applications in AWS/Azure.
  • Experience with DevSecOps, Agile development, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Knowledge of Cloud Access Security Brokers (CASBs) and industry-standard authentication mechanisms:
    • OAuth
    • OpenID
    • SAML
