About Our Client

My client, a mid-size GC, provides Construction Management and General Contracting services in the North and East Alabama markets. They foster relationships with their clients to add value, and have numerous repeat clients due to the quality they provide and experience feedback they are known for. They are most-known for their mastery of Educational and Government projects on a large scale, but can tackle any noteworthy projects in their territory. This company, founded over 30 years ago, has seen a tremendous amount of growth in the past decade.

They are quickly becoming one of the premier local contractors in Huntsville, and have seen success across the board regardless of market conditions. That being said, we are searching for an experienced Estimator to join the team and continue the growth pattern - specifically focusing more on the hard-bid side of the business plan.

Job Description
  • Guide multiple projects operationally across the preconstruction phases
  • Develop and maintain client and industry relationships
  • Partner with clients to formulate and develop contract terms, communicating the expectations to the project team
  • Perform competitive-bid practices to obtain new projects and help the company growth plan
  • Promote a collaborative philosophy with all subcontractors, vendors and project team members
  • Assist with the development of younger professionals in the Preconstruction team

The Successful Applicant
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering / Construction Management, or extensive equivalent experience
  • 5+ years experience in an Estimating / Preconstruction role within a Commercial GC
  • Knowledge of local trades, codes, ordinances, etc.
  • Experience with competitive-bid practices is required
  • Proficient in Cost Reporting and other Estimating softwares required
  • Desire to interact with both clients and industry peers in order to develop and maintain relationships
  • Excellent communication sills
  • Team-player mentality with a desire to grow within the organization
