A Typical Day...

As a Tax Preparation Specialist at H&R Block, you will receive in-depth training and the support of a team of experts to help you succeed. Enjoy flexibility and the potential for extra earnings while pursuing what makes your life uniquely yours.

  • Conduct engaging tax interviews with clients, both in person and through virtual platforms - video, phone, chat, email.
  • Accurately prepare comprehensive tax returns.
  • Drive business growth, enhance client retention, and introduce additional products and services.
  • Provide clients with IRS support and guidance.
  • Collaborate and contribute to office team goals.
  • Expand your tax knowledge and expertise.

It would be even better if you also had...

  • A Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
  • Experience in a customer service or retail environment.
  • An ability to thrive in a fast-paced, supportive setting.
  • Availability to work a minimum of 25-35 hours weekly during tax season, and up to 40 hours during peak weeks.

What you'll bring to the team...

  • Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment or Income Tax Course.
  • Experience in a high-energy work environment.
  • Proficiency in using virtual tools like video, phone, and chat.
  • Strong communication skills, both in person, on the phone, and in writing.
  • Compliance with all IRS and applicable state requirements.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent; higher education preferred.
