The Mechanical Component Specialist - Analyst position is based out of our Quad Cities Generating Station in Cordova, IL.

Position Overview

As a Mechanical Component Specialist, you will perform advanced technical and engineering problem-solving to support nuclear plant operations. You will act as a technical expert to engineers, making critical decisions based on your extensive knowledge of the functional discipline and applicable industry codes and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert technical guidance to develop, manage, and implement engineering analyses and programs.
  • Act as a subject matter expert to identify and resolve equipment and system-related issues.
  • Take on leadership roles regarding short- and long-term programs impacting site operations.
  • Undertake engineering tasks as assigned, applying your engineering principles.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of work while adhering to proper configuration management and design criteria.
  • Conduct independent research, reviews, and analyses in support of various technical projects.
  • Recommend new equipment, concepts, and techniques to enhance performance, reduce costs, or meet regulatory changes.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, which may include emergency response, departmental coverage, and support during outage activities.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Entry Level: Bachelor's degree in a technical field (non-engineering) OR Associate's degree with 1+ years of nuclear or related experience OR High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of 2 years of nuclear experience.
  • Mid-Level: Bachelor's degree in a technical field (non-engineering) with 2+ years of nuclear or related experience OR Associate's degree with 3+ years of nuclear experience OR High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of 5 years of applicable nuclear experience.
  • Senior Level: Bachelor's degree in a technical field (non-engineering) with 5+ years of nuclear or related experience OR Associate's degree with 7+ years of nuclear experience OR High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of 8 years of nuclear experience, including 5 years at the exempt level.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Specialization in rotating equipment with hands-on experience in pumps and compressors.
  • An advanced technical degree or related coursework is highly desirable.
