Job Description

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Sr. Data Analyst with extensive experience in mainframe environments and a strong background in data analysis and reporting. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of COBOL, VSAM file structures, JCL, and TSO, and will be responsible for extracting, cleansing, and preparing data for loading into a data warehouse.

Responsibilities:

  • Extract data from various sources, cleanse it, and prepare it for loading into a data warehouse.
  • Perform system development life cycle functions including project planning, requirements analysis, program specifications, coding, testing, and implementation.
  • Develop and maintain production reports using statistical reporting data tools such as SAS.
  • Work with paid and denied claims data, including diagnosis codes, procedure codes, and data standards (PHI, privacy standards, HIPAA data elements, and code sets).
  • Provide mainframe development and analysis for EDW with highly complex data models associated with 100+ data sources.
Required Skills/Attributes:
  • Five (5) years of experience working in a mainframe environment with knowledge of COBOL, VSAM file structures, JCL, and TSO.
  • Intermediate level experience with developing program specifications, pseudo code, or logic diagrams, including Warnier-Orr diagrams to identify system changes.
  • Five (5) years of experience with front-end data warehouse processing.
  • Five (5) years of experience as an analyst-programmer performing various system development life cycle functions.
  • Five (5) years of experience working with statistical reporting data tools such as SAS for large volume databases.
Preferred Skills/Attributes:
  • Extensive technical expertise in mainframe environments.
  • Analytic experience through database querying with healthcare data.
  • Experience with technical mainframe knowledge in a healthcare environment.
