Material Planner, Energy

Tesla Motors is seeking a motivated, experienced, and knowledgeable Direct and Indirect Material Planner. The ideal candidate will have experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably working with medium to low volume parts. This position will require a person that is capable of understanding the details of manufacturing processes and have excellent communication skills.
What You'll DoPlan, schedule, order, and manage assigned parts - will be a mix of direct and indirect parts
Review below minimum items for reorder and maintain target safety stock
Issue RFQ for Sourcing/Purchasing assigned materials
Process Purchase order Requisitions
Understand demand/build plan and lead time and how they affect each other as well as track status of open orders to insure on time deliveries and no risk to production
Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities
Work fluidly in a highly cross-functional team environment involving manufacturing and product development teams, as well as supply chain specialists, manufacturing engineers, production control and logistics personnel
Ability to use data to identify risk and come up with a solution
Be the first point of contact with suppliers. (quality issues, Lead time changes, Logistics support, Accounts payable)
What You'll Bring
Experience with MRP/ERP runs how to understand and use them
Degree in Supply Chain, Finance, Industrial Engineering, Mathematics or similar discipline, or equivalent expierence - 7 years of expierence in supply chain
Problem solving ability in cross-functional and multi-cultural environment
Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks based on demand with minimal leadership
Experience with SQL, MYSQL, and Power Bi a plus but not required
Off hour support request as we are 24/7 manufacturing plant

- Associate Materials Planner - $72,000 - $108,000/annual salary
- Materials Planner - $79,200 - $118,800/annual salary
- Sr Materials Planner - $90,000 - $135,000/annual salary
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
