VDC Engineer

Whiting-Turner is looking for a self-motivated, energetic, detail-oriented, technology-driven person to join our internal Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) team.
Responsibilities- Understand building construction, engineering, and/or architecture.
- Have on-the-job or class experience with BIM software programs and technology.
- Thrive in a team environment, contributing to larger projects and producing independent work.
- Bring an innately curious, forward-thinking mindset to push innovative ideas in daily tasks.
- Be able to multi-task and deliver parallel, successful products.
- Create virtual simulations to validate and improve site logistics, safety concerns, building sequencing, scheduling, and VR experiences.
- Manage 3D coordination activities with operation teams from project kickoff through closeout.
- Perform preconstruction model tasks quality verifications, schedule validations, constructability reviews, and virtual mock-up production.
- Drive research and development of new software, hardware, and technology to optimize the teams execution and overall project quality.
- Understand building construction, engineering, and/or architecture.
- Experience with BIM software programs and related technology.
- Ability to thrive in a team environment and contribute to projects while also delivering independent work.
- Curious, forward-thinking mindset to push innovative ideas in daily tasks.
- Strong multi-tasking skills and ability to deliver multiple products concurrently.
