Location: 8801 S Greenwood Ave. Chicago, IL 60619.

Schedule: Part-time 20-25 hours/week, flexible weekday schedule with summers off. Must be able to work both morning and afternoon routes.

Compensation: Paid training, no experience necessary. Starting pay $20.00/hour

The Special Education Transport Driver is responsible for transporting students safely and punctually from their pickup point to school and back. This includes pre-trip inspections, ensuring child safety, and adhering to DOT regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Three (3) years of driving experience with no breaks/gaps and no more than 1 moving violation in that time period.

  • No DUI/DWI on driving record.

  • Ability to pass a Department of Transportation physical.

  • Successful completion of a pre-employment background check and drug screen.

  • Must be at least 23 years of age.

  • Valid Drivers License.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely transport students to and from school and activities

  • Ensure timely arrival at destinations

  • Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections

  • Perform child checks after each route

  • Utilize navigation tools to plan efficient routes

  • Maintain a clean, fueled, and well-maintained vehicle

  • Keep accurate mileage and maintenance records

  • Engage with students, parents, and staff in a professional manner

  • Perform additional duties as assigned
