Job Summary for the CT Imaging Specialist

The CT Imaging Specialist is responsible for completing all necessary diagnostic radiological procedures efficiently and in accordance with physician orders. Collaborating with the patient care team is essential to ensure accurate and safe delivery of patient care. Cross-training into other modalities is an important part of this role. Responsibilities include assisting with patient specimen collection, labeling, and delivering samples to the lab, as well as engaging in quality control and equipment maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Efficiently perform CT procedures, documenting all required information and sharing relevant updates with physicians and care staff.
• Collaborate with fellow technologists and medical staff to ensure outstanding patient care.
• Assess patients' conditions to effectively carry out CT examinations.
• Clearly explain procedures to patients, setting appropriate expectations for their cooperation.
• Provide compassionate patient care, maintaining a secure and comforting environment.
• Work with other healthcare professionals to address patient and family needs.
• Ensure all clinical equipment and supplies are ready for safe use.
• Understand the growth and developmental needs of patients across all age groups.
• Conduct timely Point of Care procedures consistent with established protocols while maintaining quality control standards.

Qualifications for the CT Imaging Specialist

Education and Experience:

• Associate Degree and graduation from an accredited radiologic technology program.
• Preferred: At least 1 year of experience as a CT Technologist.

Licenses and Certificates:

• Current Medical Radiologic Technologist certification with the Texas Medical Board (TMB).
• Registered Radiologic Technologist RT (R) license from the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT).
• Current CT Technologist certification from ARRT.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be acquired within 30 days of starting employment.
