Seeking a Quality Assurance Associate to join a Food Manufacturing Plant in Batavia, NY.

Summary :

Support the overall quality focus of the manufacturing plant, concentrating on documenting and distributing finished product and ingredient data from production records. Evaluate and report compliance with company policies, U.S. Food and Drug Administration regulations, GFSI initiatives, customer specifications, HACCP, and GMP requirements.

Responsibilities :

  • Support Quality Systems, Food Safety Policies, Procedures, and practices in the manufacturing process.
  • Perform and/or observe line processing checks on packaging lines at required intervals.
  • Collect line samples for customer send-out and lab analysis.
  • Serve as the point of contact for quality concerns with production and lab.
  • Conduct area pre-ops, post-cleaning, prior to start-up, and in-process checks.
  • Assist in investigations, including customer complaints and root cause analysis.
  • Conduct internal audits, including GMP, Glass-Plastic, document audits, and Master Sanitation checks.
  • Input repair orders and follow up on completion as needed.
  • Assist with holds, paperwork, Ross transactions, email communications, and ensure product segregation.
  • Review re-work from holds before release.
  • Pull ingredient samples and conduct testing for product identity.
  • Monitor environmental temperatures and humidity.
Required :
  • Associate's degree in a related field or GED and two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be detail-oriented and highly organized.
  • Ability to work effectively under deadlines is required.
Work Environment :
  • Some time spent in an office environment. The incumbent must be able to use standard computer equipment (computer, copier, fax, and phone), bend, reach, walk, and lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Majority of time required in the production facility where the incumbent will be exposed to slippery floors, heat, cold, and noise.
