The Intelligence Production Solutions Division (IPSD) is seeking a highly skilled and innovative Senior Full Stack Software Engineer. In this pivotal position on the Maru Program, you will collaborate with a dynamic software team to develop next-generation capabilities for GEOINT exploitation and analysis.
If you possess a strong combination of software engineering experience, extensive knowledge of cloud environments, and deep GEOINT domain expertise, this role offers you the opportunity to lead technical initiatives and guide teams in delivering impactful solutions. Your responsibilities will encompass architecting cutting-edge software systems, engaging effectively with various stakeholders, and directly contributing to the codebase.
Location: Gaithersburg, MD; Alexandria, VA; Chantilly, VA
Clearance Level Required: Active TS/SCI and successful completion of a Polygraph exam.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Architect and Develop Software: Design, develop, and deploy robust, scalable, and secure full-stack applications targeting the GEOINT mission across cloud and on-premise environments.
- Lead Data and AI/ML Initiatives: Spearhead the design and implementation of large-scale data management platforms, focusing on AI/ML models and automating analytical workflows.
- Provide Technical Leadership: Mentor and guide engineering teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence within an Agile (SAFe) DevSecOps framework.
- Collaborate and Communicate: Work closely with project managers and engineering teams to define project requirements, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality outcomes.
- System Maintenance and Optimization: Conduct maintenance and improvements on secure cloud environments and mission-critical GEOINT software projects.
Basic Qualifications:
- US Citizenship: Required per contract.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field with 12-15 years of experience, or a Master's with 10-13 years of experience.
- Experience: At least 5-7 years in leading technical initiatives and developing complex applications.
- Cloud & Software Engineering: Extensive knowledge of cloud environments, particularly AWS, and experience with Kubernetes/Microservice architectures.
- Programming Languages: Proficient in Java, Python, and React, with experience in OpenLayers, SQL, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Geospatial Analytics: Proven experience with geospatial image processing platforms.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced AI/ML Experience: Strong mathematical background and experience applying AI/ML techniques.
- Data Visualization: Skills in creating interactive dashboards for real-time data.
- Geospatial Knowledge: Familiarity with GEOINT data formats and OGC standards.
