Clinical Administrative Support Specialist - Contract
Location: Minneapolis, MN (near International Market Square)
Schedule: 30-40 hours/week, onsite
Pay: $20/hr
Contract Length: 2-4 months
Start Date: As early as next week
Position Overview
A mental health clinic is seeking a Clinical Administrative Support Specialist to provide front office support and clinical operations assistance during a supervisor's extended leave. This role is ideal for someone with strong healthcare administrative experience, excellent patient interaction skills, and a background in clinical office workflows.
The position supports patient access, registration, scheduling, and electronic health record (EHR) tasks while serving as the first point of contact for clients and families.
Responsibilities
Front Office & Patient Access Support
- Greet patients and families; manage check-in and check-out processes
- Notify clinicians when patients arrive
- Answer multi-line phones and assist with shared telehealth lines
- Support Zoom and virtual therapy sessions coordination
- Maintain a welcoming, trauma-informed, patient-centered front desk environment
- Use the clinic's Electronic Health Record (EHR) (Credible preferred; Epic experience acceptable)
- Assist clinicians with case openings/closings, patient discharges, clinical outcomes scoring, and documentation support
- Support early-month insurance minute checks and data entry
- Ensure accuracy and confidentiality in all patient records (HIPAA compliance)
- Scheduling and calendar coordination
- Laminating, faxing, scanning, copying, and other administrative duties
- Provide support to multiple administrative and clinical teams as needed
- Maintain organized workflow in a fast-paced, high-volume clinic setting
- 2+ years of administrative experience in healthcare, mental health, behavioral health, or medical office settings
- Experience with an Electronic Health Record (EHR)-Credible or Epic
- Strong customer service and patient-facing communication skills
- Ability to multitask in a high-traffic clinical environment
- Professional maturity, reliability, and ability to anticipate needs
- Comfortable assisting with both front desk and clinical support duties
- Ability to start quickly and work fully onsite
- Ideal shift: 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM
- Standard 30 hours/week
- Fully onsite role interacting directly with patients, families, and clinical staff
- Contract position through end of March (likely 2-4 months)
