Summary: Installs, repairs and maintains equipment, production machines, physical structures, and components of industrial machinery by performing the essential duties and responsibilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The below list reflects management's assignment of essential functions. Management reserves the right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities at any time.

  1. Observes and listens to operating machines or equipment to diagnose machine malfunction and determine need for adjustment or repair.
  2. Measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points on metal stock surfaces.
  3. Dismantles machines or equipment to examine parts for defect or to remove defective part(s).
  4. Replaces defective part with new part or repairs or reproduces part from various kinds of metal stock.
  5. Assembles and test operates machine to verify correction of malfunction.
  6. Maintains and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
  7. Installs power supply wiring and conduit for newly stalled machines and equipment such as robots, conveyors, and programmable controllers.
  8. Connects power supply wires to machines and equipment, and connects cables and wires between machines and equipment.
  9. Diagnoses malfunction of, repairs, and installs apparatuses such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures and replaces damages or broken wires and cables.
  10. Tests malfunctioning machinery and discusses malfunction with other maintenance workers, production, and/or Engineering.
  11. Replaces faulty electrical components of machine such as relays, switches, and motors, and positions sensing devices.
  12. Diagnoses and repairs or replaces faulty electronic components.
  13. Programs, installs, or repairs automated machinery, such as robots, to operate automated machinery, to test for malfunctions, and to verify repairs.
  14. Inspects and measures parts to detect wear, misalignment, or other problems.
  15. Removes and replaces worn or defective parts of drive mechanism or hydraulic system.
  16. Locates damaged air and hydraulic pipes on machine, and measures, cuts, threads, and installs new pipe
