Orthopedic Physician Assistant - Bergen County & Hudson County

Job Type: Full Time (On-site)

Shifts: Mon-Fri (no weekends/no nights/no on-call)

Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Physician Assistant (PA) to join our outpatient Orthopedic team in Bergen and Hudson Counties. This is a full-time, Monday-through-Friday position with no weekends or on-call requirements. The PA will primarily work in Bergen County (Hackensack, Edgewater) and Hudson County (Jersey City, Secaucus), with occasional travel to neighboring counties. The ideal candidate will have solid orthopedic experience and a strong commitment to providing high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including a detailed history of pain, physical examinations, and analysis of diagnostic tests to identify pain sources and determine appropriate management plans.

  • Perform procedures such as trigger point injections, joint injections, and other interventional treatments (if trained).

  • Collaborate with physicians and pain specialists to develop, implement, and adjust individualized pain management plans that may include medications, interventions (e.g., injections, nerve blocks), physical therapy, and alternative treatments.

  • Administer prescribed pain medications, ensuring proper dosages, routes, and adherence to guidelines regarding controlled substances and opioid management protocols.

  • Educate patients about pain management techniques, safe medication usage, potential side effects, and lifestyle modifications that can help manage pain.

  • Continuously monitor patients for any adverse reactions to medications or treatments, assess pain levels, and document progress in the patient's medical record. Adjust care plans as necessary based on the patient's response.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in orthopedic surgery or orthopedic care.

  • Active Physician Assistant (PA) license in New Jersey & NCCPA certification.

  • DEA registration or eligibility for prescribing controlled substances.

  • No history of any suspension, reprimand, or disciplinary actions
