Position Overview

As an XL Non-CDL Box Truck Delivery Driver, you will play a crucial role in the efficient and timely delivery of oversized packages and goods; with the potential for install/assembly as well as scheduled return pickups. Packages can range from furniture and appliances to TV's and gym equipment etc. Operating 16-foot or 26-foot Box Truck vehicles, you will navigate through designated routes to ensure that Amazon's commitment to exceptional customer service is upheld. This position demands a high level of responsibility, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to safety.

Our Box Trucks operate out of HRD2 Amazon Delivery Station (805 S Briggs Ave, Durham, NC 27703)

  • Shifts are available 7 days a week
  • 10 Hour Shifts (One weekend day a month required)
  • Seasonal Oct 15th, 2025 - Jan 15th, 2026
  • Shift start at 9:15am
  • $22/ Hour
Responsibilities

Safe Driving and Vehicle Maintenance:

  • Safely operate an extra-large delivery vehicle to transport oversized packages to their designated locations.
  • Adhere to all traffic laws, regulations, and Amazon's safety protocols.
  • Maintain metrics related to attendance, performance, and safety.
  • Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance or safety issues promptly.
  • Maintain the vehicle used for deliveries (refueling, and cleanliness).
Package Handling and Customer Interaction:
  • Handle oversized packages with care, ensuring they are securely loaded and unloaded from the delivery vehicle.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines while lifting products.
  • Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, addressing customer inquiries and concerns professionally.
  • Represent Tactical Distribution Management LLC with a positive and customer-centric attitude.
Assembly and Install:
  • Greet customers professionally upon arrival, providing excellent customer service.
  • Inspect all items before assembly and installation to ensure they are not damaged and meet quality standards.
  • Assemble products upon delivery, ensuring that items are set up according to manufacturer instructions.
  • Ensure that products are assembled safely, using proper tools and techniques.
  • Verify that the products are functioning correctly and that any necessary tests are completed before leaving the customer's location.
Technology Utilization:
  • Effectively use Amazon's delivery technology, mobile apps, and handheld devices for tracking deliveries and updating delivery statuses.
  • Report any technology-related issues promptly.
Qualifications
  • Eligible to work in the U.S.
  • Have a valid North Carolina Driver's License - Commercial Driver's License Not Required (NON-CDL)
  • At least 21 years of age
  • Proven experience as a delivery driver, in oversized or heavy-load transportation, preferred
  • Install and Assembly experience preferred
  • Have a clean motor vehicle report (multiple violations can disqualify you from the position)
  • Pass Department of Transportation (DOT) physical and obtain DOT Medical Examiner Certification (current/valid/or willing to obtain one before starting)
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to use navigation GPS tools without aid
  • Ability to operate a smartphone without aid
Physicality:
  • Ability to pass a DOT Physical
  • Physical fitness to handle heavy and oversized packages
  • Push/Pull large parcels using dollies and other specialized equipment (Packages weighing between 50-200 lbs; some will be team-lift)
  • Lifting 70 lbs. (one person lifts) or 300lbs. (Two person lifts) delivering larger parcels that may include furniture, appliances, athletic equipment and other large items you can order on Amazon
  • Ability to walk a brisk 15-minute mile
  • Ability to lift packages and bundles weighing up to 70lbs multiple times during a route
  • Ability to climb stairs on a regular basis
  • Must be comfortable driving and working in varying weather conditions
