About The Position
Job Title: Pharmacist Profession: Pharmacist Specialty: Hospital Pharmacy Duration: 26 weeks Shift: 10 hours Hours per Shift: 40 hours per week Experience: 1 year of hospital experience required License: MN State Pharmacist license Certifications: BLS (AHA) required; ACLS preferred Must-Have: 1 year of hospital experience. BLS certification, must be AHA. MN State Pharmacist license required. Description: The Pharmacist reviews and interprets provider orders. They provide drug information and assist in problem solving. The Pharmacist delivers other aspects of pharmaceutical care. Duties may include unit dose dispensing and IV admixtures. They may also handle outpatient prescriptions and navigate the electronic medical record. Compounding and working with automated dispensing devices are also part of the role. The Pharmacist assesses the pharmaceutical needs of patients across various age groups. The role may include direct patient interaction, interdisciplinary team rounding, and chart reviews. Responsibilities may involve checking and dispensing medications. The Pharmacist follows all established regulations and standards governing pharmacy practice. They may act as a shift supervisor under supervision. Demonstrating good written and verbal communication skills is essential. The Pharmacist is expected to learn and utilize new technology as the profession evolves. They provide oversight and clinical supervision for pharmacy services and pharmacy support personnel. Pharmacy services may involve various specialties, including acute care surgery, neurology, pediatrics, and oncology. Training will be a minimum of four weeks, focusing on inpatient pharmacy practice. The position covers both clinical and dispensing pharmacist duties. Dress code consists of hospital-provided scrubs. Floating to other departments may be required. The average patient census is around 80-90 patients. All required certifications must be obtained prior to the start of the role.
