Duties:

Direct Supply, Inc. seeks a Senior Data Architect reporting to headquarters in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to build and implement data architectures and data engineering. Provide the vision, strategy, and design for data platforms. Integrate data platforms with large language models (LLMs) and vector databases to support generative AI applications. Build enterprise-scale data solutions. Utilize programming languages for data engineering and analysis, including Python, SQL, Scala, and Java. Build data warehousing and database management systems using Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL. Conduct performance tuning and optimization of data solutions, including indexing, partitioning, and query optimization. Utilize cloud-based data solutions, including AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to build data infrastructures. Partner with software and security architects to ensure compliance with data security and privacy practices. Provide thought leadership in the areas of advanced data techniques, including data modeling, data governance, data quality, data access, data integration, data analysis, and data solution design and implementation. Provide expertise in the areas of data analysis, natural language processing, data/ML/BI model sharing, data warehousing, and performance tuning. Design and implement data Lakehouse architectures, including Delta Lake, Apache Iceberg, and Apache Hudi. Evaluate and recommend new and emerging data management and storage technologies and standards. Establish standards and guidelines for design, implementation, and sustainability of databases and data management systems. Telecommuting available 5 days per week. Annual Salary: $141,400 to $212,160.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or a related field plus five years of progressive data architecture and data engineering experience. Must have at least 5 years of experience in each of the following: 1. Utilizing programming languages for data engineering and analysis, including Python, SQL, Scala, and Java; 2. Building data warehousing and database management systems using Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL; 3. Conducting performance tuning and optimization of data solutions, including indexing, partitioning, and query optimization; 4. Utilizing cloud-based data solutions, including AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to build data infrastructures; and 5. Designing and implementing data Lakehouse architectures, including Delta Lake, Apache Iceberg, and Apache Hudi.
