POSITION SUMMARY: Join our team as a Lead Diesel Mechanic where you will oversee a group of skilled technicians. As a vital member of our maintenance team, you will take charge of all chassis, including diesel and non-diesel equipment and trucks, as well as refuse bodywork. This is an exciting opportunity to not only diagnose complex repair work but also to coach and mentor technicians in diagnostic techniques.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Utilize your expert knowledge and advanced skills in vehicle systems, including chassis component repair, hydraulic and electrical systems, braking systems, engine maintenance, suspension, drivetrain, and air conditioning systems.
  • Lead and direct technicians in your work group to guarantee that repairs and maintenance are conducted safely and efficiently.
  • Plan and schedule repair work to minimize downtime and improve productivity.
  • Inspect third-party repair work to ensure compliance with safety procedures and regulations.
  • Use electronic tools to diagnose complicated repair issues and mentor technicians by sharing your expertise.
  • Complete all necessary Company training programs and assume Maintenance Supervisor duties as needed.
  • Perform other relevant job duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as a technician working on heavy-duty trucks is essential.
  • Ability to perform inspections and repairs in various heavy truck or automotive systems like suspensions, steering, engines, brakes, and more.
  • Experience with OSHA regulations related to Haz Com, Lock Out Tag Out, and fire protection is an asset.
  • At least 1 year in a supervisory or lead technician role is preferred.
  • ASE Heavy Truck Certifications (T1-T8) are highly valued.
  • A Class B or higher Commercial Driver's License is beneficial but not mandatory.
  • A valid Driver's License is required.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience working on heavy-duty trucks.
