Overview
Imagine embarking on a career that truly gives voice to your purpose - a role that goes beyond traditional speech therapy. As a Speech Language Pathologist within one of North Carolina's most dynamic communities, your contributions will not only address communication and swallowing challenges but will also empower individuals, rebuild confidence, and foster deep connections. Picture toddlers articulating their very first words, and seniors finding their independence again. This is the difference you will make.
This position offers a remarkable opportunity to cater to a diverse group of individuals throughout their lives, intertwining outpatient therapies with the occasional inpatient requirement. Whether your passion lies in pediatric speech milestones, adult neurogenic disorders, or catering to geriatric cognitive rehab, you will find endless fulfillment and flexibility in your role.
Description
- Assess patients of all ages - pediatric, adult, and geriatric - utilizing both standardized assessments and observational techniques.
- Craft individualized treatment plans that meet both short-term and long-term speech, language, cognitive, or swallowing goals.
- Deliver tailored speech therapy sessions with a focus on communication, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing practices.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and loved ones to ensure a seamless care strategy.
- Educate patients and their families, supporting their growth outside of the therapy sessions.
- Partake in occasional inpatient evaluations and interventions to maintain continuity of care along the patient journey.
- Ensure comprehensive documentation is kept timely and accurate, adhering to state, federal, and organizational standards.
- Engage in ongoing professional growth through continuing education opportunities and peer collaboration.
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
- A completed supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.
- Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 30 days of hire.
- Expertise in evidence-based methodologies suitable for all ages, demonstrating a strong grasp of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills, enabling effective communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Adept at modifying therapy approaches to cater to differing cultural and linguistic contexts.
- Strong clinical judgment complemented by excellent problem-solving capabilities.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and proficient in documentation protocols.
- Competitive salary packages aligned with your experience.
- Flexible scheduling options allow for an optimal work-life balance and varied patient caseloads.
- Pathways to specialize in fields such as pediatrics, adult neuro rehab, or geriatrics.
- Generous paid time off (PTO) and holiday remuneration.
- Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance choices.
- Financial support for continuing education and professional growth.
- A collaborative atmosphere that prioritizes quality care and continuous learning.
A Journey That Develops Alongside You
In this role, your task will go beyond delivering speech therapy; you'll integrate into a mission that champions communication, reinforces connections, and cultivates delight through the most fundamental of human interactions: comprehension and dialogue.
You will collaborate with colleagues who treat one another like family, in an environment that values cooperation over competition. Each patient brings a unique narrative, and we entrust you with the power to influence how that tale is shared.
Why You Will Love Life and Work Here
Living here means embracing a vibrant lifestyle that melds innovation with warm southern hospitality. Located amidst the lush landscapes of North Carolina, you'll encounter a community rich with cultural opportunities and natural beauty. Picture weekends filled with exploration, from verdant parks to dynamic local culinary festivals that tantalize your taste buds.
This region thrives on creativity, expressed through lively art and music scenes, and the enchanting events that gather people from diverse backgrounds. For professionals like you, the advantages are substantial: no state income tax, a manageable cost of living, and an expanding healthcare sector create a fertile ground for your career to flourish.
Whether you're starting your professional journey or are a seasoned expert looking to expand your horizons, this locale provides the perfect avenue for personal and professional advancement.
Who We Are Seeking
Our ideal candidate is a Speech Language Pathologist motivated not just by clinical outcomes but also by compassion. This is someone who envisions unspoken potential in a timid child and hears the resilience in the hesitant words of a stroke survivor.
If you're a pediatric guru eyeing a foray into adult services, or conversely, a neuro-focused professional who wishes to incorporate early intervention into your practice, we want to hear from you.
Regardless of your specialization, if you are prepared to serve selflessly with skill and heart, we are eager to embrace you.
Let's Craft the Right Narrative - Together
If you believe that speech is more than mere sounds and therapy extends beyond a set of tasks - if you value the relationship built on trust first and recognize laughter as equally important to language - then this could be the fulfilling next step in your career journey.
Join us in a community that encourages communication, camaraderie, and the courage required to start anew. Apply today, and lend your voice to our team - assisting others in discovering theirs.
