The expected salary range is $100,800 to $112,000, dependent on experience, along with a robust benefits package.
Position Overview
The Senior Energy Project Developer plays a crucial role in facilitating Energy Efficiency projects related to Infrastructure Renewal and Building Upgrades. You will be responsible for managing the technical elements of project development, from initial qualification through to contract award. As a Project Developer/Sales Engineer, you will leverage your technical expertise to foster customer engagements and meet business goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the technical authority throughout the project lifecycle, focusing on building systems and energy conservation measures.
- Work closely with the Business Development Manager and other teams to evaluate project feasibility while providing necessary technical support.
- Conduct detailed assessments of facilities to identify potential Energy Conservation Measures and infrastructure improvements.
- Analyze utility profiles and facility infrastructures to outline project scopes and financial parameters.
- Lead cross-functional teams to produce all essential project documents, ensuring alignment and quality control from initial qualification to contract finalization.
- Broaden project scopes by integrating sustainability and resiliency measures into traditional energy efficiency projects.
- Supervise review processes for legal documents, financing, and project approvals.
- Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources to guarantee on-schedule delivery and scope adherence.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 3-5 years of experience in project development or sales engineering.
- Extensive technical knowledge of building systems and their interactions.
- Experience in conducting cost savings analyses using customer operational data.
- Strong technical writing and financial analysis skills, with the ability to create comprehensive project documentation.
- Proven relationship-building skills with professionals in engineering and contracting sectors.
- Fluency in English, with excellent communication and presentation skills for senior leadership audiences.
- Ability to obtain necessary security clearances.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in leading infrastructure-based projects and managing cross-functional teams to fulfill project goals.
- Knowledge of Energy Savings Performance Contracts and related programs.
- Familiarity with cost estimating and building modeling software such as RSMeans and Trane TRACE.
- Professional Engineering (PE) registration or certifications such as Certified Energy Manager (CEM) is advantageous.
- Certification as a Certified Energy Auditor (CEA) is preferable.
