MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN I

- Diagnosis and Repair: Identify and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in forklifts and other material handling equipment.
- Preventive Maintenance: Perform routine inspections and maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance, including checking fluids, brakes, and batteries.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and regulations, ensuring that all repairs and maintenance are performed correctly to minimize workplace accidents.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of repairs, services, and inspections performed on equipment.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other maintenance team members and report to maintenance supervisors or fleet managers to coordinate activities effectively.
- Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is typically required. Many employers prefer candidates with a degree or certification in automotive technology or a related field.
- Experience: Previous experience as a forklift mechanic or in a similar role is often preferred. Hands-on experience can be gained through apprenticeships or on-the-job training.
- Certifications: Certification from recognized bodies, such as the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) or a forklift-specific certification like the Certified Forklift Technician (CFT), is often required.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems related to forklifts.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to diagnose complex mechanical issues and formulate effective solutions.
- Attention to Detail: Ensure thoroughness in repairs and maintenance to guarantee safety and efficiency.
- Physical Stamina: Capability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and working in various positions.
Starting wage of $29.11 after completion of probationary period pay will increase to $29.56:
Scheduled Shifts & Hours...
- Monday - Friday 7:00am to 3:30pm
Applicants must be willing to work a flexible schedule if needed.
Applicants must be able to fully pass a pre-employment drug screening.
All positions are considered safety sensitive.
Position Requirements:
- Excellent Attendance Record – A MUST
- Aggressive, self-motivated maintenance technician with previous experience in industrial manufacturing
- Strong work ethic
- Ability to multi-task
- Must possess a detailed understanding of electrical, pneumatics, hydraulics and mechanical systems.
- Previous mechanical troubleshooting is desirable but not a requirement.
