Job Summary:

Position Title: Business Analyst
Location: Remote
Location of Candidate: Remote with preference of NYS or Northeast Region
Travel: 5% - occasional team meeeting
Duration: 1 year with option to extend
Pay rate: $50.00/hr - $60.00/hr

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Identify business needs, elicit specifications and requirements, and collaborate to develop innovative solutions.
  • Prepare functional specifications, review with the team, revise as needed, and obtain sign-off.
  • Provide analysis for projects involving systems design or redesign.
  • Serve as a team liaison and represent the department on project teams and working groups.
  • Document system processes, configurations, and changes.
  • Manage multiple projects and assignments concurrently and meet established deadlines.
  • Communicate with management and end-users in meaningful and understandable terms.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration among diverse groups at all levels of the organization.
  • Serve as a resource and mentor for other team members.
  • Resolve issues with applicants or consultants.
  • Make recommendations for improvements to NYSERDA's business processes.
  • Support program reporting.
  • Other duties as assigned to support the key outcomes for the Technical Services and Clean and Resilient Buildings teams.

  • Highly organized & detail oriented.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Experience implementing NYSERDA or similar utility incentive programs.
  • Strength in Salesforce Lightning, including system design, troubleshooting, UAT, report and dashboard building.
  • Expected Years of Experience: 3+ years.
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Technical & Professional Skills & Knowledge:
    • Is able to work independently and has a solid understanding of project management methods, processes, standards and tools. The individual needs to be proficient at documenting requirements and specifications, and creating visual aids to represent business processes using standard methods. Experience and skill in discerning true requirements stemming from needs as opposed to business units' less critical wants and wishes.
  • Creativity in Project & Program Development:
    • Not fully applicable, however, the ideal candidate needs to have the ability to understand issues at the source level, and creatively find the least expensive, and most reliable solution. Ability to quickly identify and drive the best possible solution when presented with a series of opportunities and constraints.
  • Organization Skills & Productivity:
    • Has demonstrated ability to implement projects in a timely manner. Demonstrates the capability to manage all aspects of ongoing projects with no supervision. Skill in managing multiple diverse activities simultaneously, delivering on commitments, and operating with speed, accuracy, and strong judgement. Effectively discharges general technical and project management assignments in a timely manner. Demonstrates strategic thinking connected to the organization's goals.
  • Leadership / Interpersonal Relations / Judgement:
    • Has demonstrated he ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts. Provides guidance to junior staff when appropriate and can supervise the day-to-day work of interns. Has full confidence of peers and superiors. People skills have developed to show leadership and an ability to motivate others.
  • Communication Skills & External Relations:
    • A strong customer orientation, with active listening skills and the ability to understand and define and document business needs comprehensively. Produces effective and purposeful written material that requires no editing. Constructively edits work and mentors junior staff. Effectively represents Authority in difficult or complex negotiations with outside contacts and customers. Presents ideals clearly and concisely in oral and written format.
