Description
Our calling at PPEC of Palm Beach is supporting families in our community and the precious children entrusted to our expert care. PPEC of Palm Beach is a Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care center which was founded to serve medically fragile children in Palm Beach County.
We are currently seeking a part-time, Licensed Nurse Practitioner (LPN) childcare provider who is experienced in working with children in a pediatric facility to provide exceptional support to the children entrusted to our care. There may be opportunity to increase to full-time hours. Our LPNs are responsible for the daily caregiving responsibilities, and providing a happy, safe, nurturing environment for children to grow.
What You'll Do
The LPN administers nursing procedures to patients in accordance with patient's Plan of Care, such as tube feeding, sterile dressing, soaks, compresses, enemas, suppositories, oxygen administration, ROM therapy, catheterization, diabetic care, pre- and post -operative care, etc.
Our LPNs also:
- Administers medications to patients orally, intra-, or subcutaneously
- Monitors effects of medications, records medication given and patient's reactions
- Observes and monitors movement and activities of patients in the PPEC
- Assists/reviews MAR monthly and as needed to ensure accuracy
- Writes daily progress notes, nursing notes and reports of unusual incidents
- Recognizes and promptly reports condition changes to supervisor
- An opportunity to make a difference in the lives of children in the community

Requirements
- Valid LPN as issued by the Florida Board of Nursing
- Current CPR and First Aid certifications
- Must be able to pass a Level II background check
- Must be able to regularly lift and carry at least 50 lbs. safely
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of medications and treatments used in patient care
- Knowledge of infection control procedures
Salary Description
$24 - $26 per hour
