About The Role: CDL Class B Driver

We are thrilled to announce an opening for a CDL Class B Driver in our Orica USA Commercial team.

In this role, you will operate Orica's bulk trucks (Mobile Manufacturing Units), delivering and installing blasting products at various local construction sites, mines, and quarries. You will also be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the equipment.

This is a hybrid role, encompassing approximately 40% driving and 60% physical work related to product installation. Your responsibilities will include:

• Loading products and driving a Class B CDL truck.
• Pulling hoses and operating manufacturing unit control systems.
• Climbing on and off the bulk truck in various weather conditions.
• Delivering high-quality blasting services while maintaining safety and environmental standards.

Work Schedule

• Monday through Friday
• Local driving assignments (2-3 hours trips)
• Early morning starts at approximately 6 AM
• Expected work hours of 10-12 per day
• Overtime may be required
• Up to 10% overnight travel

What You Will Be Doing

• Conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections on vehicles.
• Operating emulsion tanker trucks and box trucks during daily tasks.
• Ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards for handling raw materials and hazardous goods.
• Minimizing environmental impact through best practices in waste reduction.
• Reporting any unusual incidents or accidents immediately.
• Engaging in daily safety discussions and monthly meetings to promote a culture of safety.

What You Will Bring

• A minimum of one year of experience in driving and/or material handling.
• Strong understanding of DOT regulations.
• Excellent communication skills and team collaboration ability.
• Great attention to detail and basic math skills for inventory management.
• Ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements

• Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Able to lift up to 60 pounds and carry 50 pounds or more regularly.
• Capability to load products, pull large hoses, fill drilled holes, and climb on and off trucks.
• Frequent shoveling and physical activities throughout the workday.
• Regular pushing and pulling with equipment as needed.

Your Qualifications

• A valid Class B CDL is required (Class A preferred).
• Tanker and Hazmat endorsements are preferred but not required.
• Willingness to obtain necessary endorsements with support provided.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Compensation

• Hourly Pay Range: $26-28
• Signing Bonus: $4,500

(Salary is determined based on the applicant's experience, skills, and alignment with market data.)
