Honolulu, HI, United States Punahou School Full time

The Annual Giving Officer reports to the Director of Annual Giving and is a core member of the Development Team. In collaboration with the Director of Annual Giving, this role is responsible for implementing and managing comprehensive, data-driven strategies designed to grow donor participation and significantly increase unrestricted support for the $2M+ Punahou Fund. The Officer serves as a critical driver of operational execution, overseeing direct appeals, managing key volunteer efforts, and developing community-facing communications. The primary goal is to broaden and strengthen the base of philanthropic support across all constituent groups, including parents, faculty and staff, alumni, and the wider school community.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Program Management & Appeal Execution: Drive the execution of all Annual Giving appeals (approximately 10 annually), serving as the project lead for direct mail, digital communications, email, and social media campaigns. Manage the entire appeal lifecycle from concept and creative development through production and deployment, ensuring all projects align with strategic goals and meet firm deadlines. Serve as the primary liaison, coordinating seamlessly with internal partners (Communications, Advancement Services) and external vendors.
  • Data Strategy, Extraction, and Reporting (Raiser's Edge): Own the data integrity and segmentation process for all appeals, communications, event invitations, and stewardship efforts. Build and execute complex queries and reports in Raiser's Edge (or comparable database) to support strategic decision-making, performance analysis, and donor prospecting.
  • Data Analysis: Actively monitor and analyze all key performance metrics (e.g., participation rates, dollars raised, giving levels, appeal ROI) to track progress against the $2M+ goal and recommend data-driven strategy adjustments.
  • Volunteer Leadership & Management: Recruit, train, and manage key volunteer groups, including the Parent Advancement Council (PAC) and the Heart of Punahou Employees (HOPE) Committee. Provide leadership and guidance to maximize their effectiveness in peer-to-peer fundraising, community engagement, and donor stewardship, ensuring their efforts directly support Annual Giving goals.
  • Donor Engagement & Stewardship: Provide high-level, timely, and personalized customer service to all donors and prospects, resolving inquiries with professionalism and discretion. Collaborate on the planning and execution of cultivation communications and stewardship events designed to strengthen relationships and encourage continued support.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work proactively and collaboratively with the entire Development Team to support all fundraising, community-building, and stewardship initiatives. Act as a reliable cross-functional partner with key campus departments (including Communications, Alumni Relations, and Advancement Services) to ensure the successful execution of all annual initiatives.
