About the Job

Our client is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer on a direct hire basis in Reno, Nevada to join a talented and diverse infrastructure group. This team is passionate about improving communities through the design of safer roadways, enhanced multi-modal access for bicycles and pedestrians, improved accessibility for individuals with disabilities, and the integration of green infrastructure and sustainable materials. Projects include complete streets, pathways, parks and recreation areas, ecological restoration, utilities, stormwater and drainage systems, water quality enhancements, and more.

Senior Civil Engineers are encouraged to innovate, explore, and grow professionally in a collaborative environment that values knowledge sharing and creativity.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate projects of varying size and complexity.

  • Lead projects to meet or exceed expectations.

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities.

  • Develop project scopes and proposals; participate in interviews.

  • Allocate resources effectively to complete projects.

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication.

  • Apply standard engineering techniques and procedures to technical and field tasks.

  • Prepare plans, specifications, and engineer's estimates (PS&E).

  • Review field reports and guide staff.

  • Organize field work and assign tasks.

  • Evaluate complex data and integrate findings from team specialists.

  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to project team members.

  • Review engineering work completed by others.

Qualifications (Must Have)

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.

  • 15 years of progressive civil engineering experience.

  • Nevada Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or ability to obtain reciprocity within 6 months.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

Qualifications (Nice to Have)

  • 18-20 years of progressive civil engineering experience.

  • Experience in civil engineering and project management for transportation and utility projects.

  • Background in marketing, proposal writing, and business development.

  • Familiarity with regulatory agencies and documentation for federally/state funded projects.
