Position Overview

The Phlebotomist / Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as the face of the organization to patients, providing high-quality blood collection and specimen preparation services. This role emphasizes patient trust, accuracy, confidentiality, and professionalism while supporting clinical and forensic specimen collection in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform venipuncture and specimen collection safely and accurately for patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations.
  • Prepare specimens for laboratory testing in accordance with established procedures.
  • Verify patient demographics and specimen labeling, obtaining patient signatures post-collection.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Perform daily tasks accurately and on time under direction of the area supervisor.
  • Maintain a safe, professional, and confidential patient service environment.
  • Travel between Patient Service Centers and in-office locations as business needs dictate.
  • Demonstrate strong customer focus, professionalism, and organizational commitment.
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
  • 3+ years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections
  • Strong ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision
  • Excellent communication, organization, and multitasking skills
  • Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and clean driving record (if applicable)
  • Ability to travel between multiple locations with minimal notice
Preferred Qualifications
  • Medical Assistant or Paramedic training
  • Phlebotomy certification (required in CA, NV, and WA; preferred elsewhere)
  • Experience in a Patient Service Center environment
  • Customer service experience in retail or service settings
  • Keyboarding and data entry experience
Credentials & Licensing
  • State of Credentials Required: Texas
Work Environment
  • Patient Service Centers, physician offices, and mobile settings
  • Training locations may vary based on trainer availability
