Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support mechanical and electronics manufacturing processes, including SMT and soldering of PCBA's, as well as assembly integration and testing tailored for aerospace and defense projects.
  • Conduct program quality planning, analyze QA requirements, develop inspection/test procedures, and review process plans.
  • Finalizing source inspection checklists, coordinating reviews of nonconformance documentation, and supporting root cause/corrective actions.
  • Review AS9102 First Article Inspection documentation and collaborate with DCMA and other quality assurance agencies.
  • Collect and report Quality Metrics, review and approve new drawings, and assist project managers during design and manufacturing readiness reviews.
  • Participate in PDR, CDR, APQP, PPAP, DFMEA, PFMEA, and conduct supplier surveillance audits.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 4-8 years of relevant experience or a Master's degree with 2-6 years of relevant experience; or a High School Diploma/GED with at least 10 years in an ISO9001/AS9100 environment, particularly within DOD, Aerospace, or Automotive manufacturing quality control.
  • Strong working knowledge of IPC-A-610 and IPC-J-STD-001.
  • Experience handling non-conforming material, conducting failure analysis, root cause identification, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Proficient in writing procedures, delegating work instructions, and managing QMS documentation aligned with AS9100 standards.
  • Ability to interpret contract quality clauses and technical data to create appropriate quality verification procedures, plans, and instructions, including AS9102 documentation.
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • Effective communication skills, particularly in a collaborative team environment.
  • Must be a resident of North Alabama or willing to relocate to the area.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a financial secret clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Windows and Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & Outlook).
  • Knowledge of Systems Engineering principles.
  • Experience with assembly integration and testing.
  • Knowledge of IPC/WHMA-A-620 and IPC-J-STD-001 Space Addendum.
