Your Responsibilities: In this pivotal role, you will work closely with plant management to enhance cost efficiencies and boost profitability while establishing cost accounting procedures and methods. You will analyze cost reports and inventory accounts, ensuring accuracy and proper allocation of cost data. Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with Sales, Operations, and Engineering to validate the Bill of Materials across various business units.
- Conducting detailed trend analyses to assess product profitability.
- Assisting Finance Managers in the preparation of annual budgets with trend reviews.
- Partnering with Sales on complex quoting jobs to maximize profitability visibility.
- Supporting Finance Managers in high-volume business operations to understand trends impacting KPIs.
- Reporting price realization across business units versus budget.
- Working with Supply Chain teams and Finance to evaluate inflationary impacts on raw materials that influence pricing decisions.
- Analyzing labor utilization metrics to enhance overhead absorption in manufacturing sites.
- Collaborating with Finance Managers to review and update site labor and overhead rates annually.
- Assisting manufacturing sites in managing standard costing.
- Reviewing site Purchase Price Variance reports and ensuring accurate accounting of variances.
- Ensuring proper accounting and safeguarding of plant assets, including participation in annual physical and fixed asset inventories.
- Contributing to continuous improvement programs within the company.
- Validating estimated and actual productivity cost savings metrics for operations.
- Assisting in evaluating capital expenditure justifications and payback analyses.
Your Qualifications: We are looking for dynamic candidates who possess:
- An undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in cost accounting, cost analysis, or manufacturing plant profitability reporting.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to lead accounting policy development.
- Proficiency in cost accounting principles and intermediate GAAP accounting principles.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to collaborate across multiple locations.
- Strong proficiency in ERP systems, as well as MS Excel and Office.
- Solid analytical, statistical analysis, and math skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CMA or CPA certification is highly desirable.
- Experience in the engineered, manufactured precision components industry.
- Proven track record in leading change initiatives.
- Familiarity with Syteline, JD Edwards, and Power BI is a plus.
