Chief Of Staff To The Managing Partner
The Chief of Staff to the Managing Partner will act as an extension of the Managing Partner—driving priorities, managing execution, and ensuring organizational alignment across the firm. The role is both strategic and tactical, providing high-level support while also engaging deeply in day-to-day case and team operations. This person will work closely with the Managing Partner and COO to help manage and coordinate the legal team—including attorneys, paralegals, case managers, case auditors, and outsourced employees—to ensure accountability, communication, and smooth execution across all matters. The ideal candidate is smart, proactive, and ambitious, with exceptional judgment and interpersonal skills. This role offers a front-row seat to firm leadership, providing unparalleled exposure to what makes a great personal injury attorney and law firm operator. It’s ideal for someone who may aspire to law school or a long-term career in legal management. Responsibilities: • Serve as the Managing Partner’s operational right hand, ensuring alignment across the firm’s leadership and legal teams. • Attend all meetings with or on behalf of the Managing Partner, take comprehensive notes, follow up on deliverables, and ensure follow-through. • Partner with the Managing Partner and COO to oversee and support the firm’s legal staff—attorneys, paralegals, case managers, case auditors, and outsourced teams—to ensure high performance and accountability. • Assist in prioritizing and coordinating case-related activities and deadlines. • Manage and prioritize the Managing Partner’s calendar, email inbox, travel schedule, and daily workflow. • Support active case management and settlement strategy development, including reviewing case summaries and preparing negotiation materials in partnership with the Managing Partner. • Draft internal communications, client correspondence, and executive summaries on behalf of the Managing Partner. • Serve as a trusted liaison between the Managing Partner and the firm’s leadership (COO, Attorneys, HR, Marketing, etc.). • Contribute to special projects, business development initiatives, and firm-wide process improvements. • Exercise discretion and sound judgment in handling confidential matters. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree required; paralegal, pre-law, or JD track preferred. • 3–5 years of professional experience in a law firm, consulting, operations, or other high-performance environment. • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence without direct authority. • Proven organizational and project management skills, with a bias toward action and follow-through. • Exposure to or experience with case management, plaintiff settlements, or litigation workflows strongly preferred. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal operations systems (Filevine, Lead Docket, etc.) is a plus. • High emotional intelligence, discretion, and professionalism. Compensation: $75,000 - $95,000 yearly
