Overview of the Role

As an Auto Technician Trainee, you will be guided through a comprehensive training program where you'll gain the skills to become a certified auto glass technician. Upon successful completion, you will earn the Safelite SafeTech certification, enabling you to independently conduct glass repairs, replacements, and recalibrations. We seek individuals with a positive, can-do attitude, who are committed to delivering exceptional service and quality to our customers.

Your Responsibilities

  • Learn the Safelite method through hands-on experience and classroom instruction.
  • Assist in the installation and repair of auto glass.
  • Recalibrate automotive safety systems and conduct diagnostic tests.
  • Study and pass tests to achieve the Safelite-certified Technician status.
  • Safely operate company and customer vehicles, as well as use company-issued tools and chemicals.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned and adhere to company policies.

What We Offer

  • Competitive pay starting at $22.25/hour, increasing to $26.50/hour after training and certification.
  • Additional earnings for each set of wiper blades installed.

  • Options to buy additional paid time off or sell unused time (up to 16 hours).
  • Annual tuition reimbursement up to $5,250.

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Licenses: Valid state-issued driver's license is required.

Experience: Must be at least 18 years old.

Skills:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds regularly and 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Capability to stand for long periods and work in confined spaces.
  • Proficient in using various hand and power tools safely.
  • Ability to operate a vehicle in compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Strong customer service skills and a professional demeanor.
  • Willingness to work in varying weather conditions and to handle chemicals safely.
  • Flexibility in scheduling to meet customer requirements.
  • Problem-solving skills and basic computer proficiency.
