Chief Compliance Officer - Virtual Care

Join our mission-driven organization as a Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) to spearhead our regulatory, privacy, and healthcare compliance strategy while we expand our innovative nationwide virtual care model. You will have the opportunity to create and adapt a compliance program that encourages innovation while maintaining the highest standards of patient safety, data privacy, and regulatory integrity.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the evolution and implementation of our enterprise compliance program to ensure it meets dynamic healthcare standards.
  • Serve as a critical executive adviser on matters related to regulatory risk, compliance, credentialing operations, privacy operations, and audit preparedness.
  • Ensure adherence to state and federal healthcare laws, including HIPAA, HITECH, prescribing rules, telehealth regulations, Anti-Kickback Statute (AKS), Stark Law, and the False Claims Act.
  • Build and maintain a URAC-compliant telehealth compliance and quality program alongside NCQA credentialing, encompassing policy development, monitoring, reporting, and corrective action frameworks.
  • Oversee compliance across multi-state telehealth regulations, provider licensure, credentialing standards, and payor compliance.
  • Direct compliance audits and manage engagement with regulatory authorities, payors, and enterprise clients.
  • Act as the HIPAA Privacy Officer, owning the privacy program, policy framework, workforce training, and response to PHI incidents.
  • Collaborate with the Chief Information Security Officer on risk assessments and data protection strategies.
  • Chair the Quality & Compliance Committee, leading clinical quality and patient safety initiatives in partnership with clinical leadership.
  • Build and mentor a high-performing compliance team that can grow with the organization.

What You Bring

  • A total of 15+ years of experience in healthcare compliance, regulatory affairs, health system operations, or a related legal/risk leadership role.
  • At least 7 years in senior leadership positions, ideally as VP or Head of Compliance in a high-growth healthcare environment.
  • Experience in telehealth, multi-state provider groups, virtual care platforms, or health plans.
  • Thorough knowledge of U.S. healthcare regulations, including:
    • All telehealth regulations
    • DEA and prescribing regulations
    • URAC/NCQA accreditation standards
    • HIPAA/HITECH compliance
    • CMS compliance program requirements
    • Fraud, Waste & Abuse prevention
    • AKS, Stark, and False Claims exposure
  • Proven ability to build and scale corporate compliance programs successfully.
  • Strong executive presence and skill in board communication.
  • An advanced degree is preferred (JD, MBA, MHA, MPH, or similar).
  • CHC, CHPC, or similar certifications are a plus.
