General Statement

The Maintenance Worker III at Great Falls College is responsible for implementation and coordinating the maintenance and repair activities of the campus facilities. This includes ensuring the proper functioning of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structural systems. The role involves working with a team of custodians (both employees and contract) and maintenance staff, managing work orders, and maintaining a safe and efficient working environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

1.Coordinate and perform routine inspections of campus facilities.
2.Ensure timely response to maintenance requests and work orders.
3.Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and inventory.
4.Ability to respond to emergency situations as they arise.
5.Recommend budget requirements for maintenance operations and resource allocation to the Facilities Director.
6.Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
7.Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless facility operations.

Required Qualifications - Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills

1.High school diploma or equivalent.
2.Minimum of 4 years of experience in facility maintenance or related field.
3.Ability to obtain Low Pressure Boiler Operator Certification within 6 months of employment.
4.Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC and structural systems.
5.Ability to use computer based programs for building maintenance work orders and other associated programs as required
6.Knowledge of cleaning procedures and chemical use.

Preferred Qualifications - Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills

1.Associate degree or higher in a related field.
2.Certifications in HVAC, plumbing, or electrical systems.
3.Experience with snow removal, grounds maintenance and small equipment operation.
4.Experience in a higher education setting.
5.Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
6.Dependability - consistently at work and on time.
7.Excellent oral & written communication skills
8.Excellent customer service skills

The Successful Candidate Will

Special Requirements

Must be able to respond to after-hours emergency and weekend call outs and occasional shift changes.

Physical Demands

Ability to lift, carry, push and pull items weighing up to 100 pounds.
