Bringing together traditional and alternative investments, Goldman Sachs Asset Management provides clients around the world with a dedicated partnership and focus on long-term performance. As the primary investment area within Goldman Sachs, we provide investment and advisory services for pension plans, sovereign wealth funds, insurance companies, endowments, foundations, financial advisors and individuals. Goldman Sachs Asset Management invests both capital raised from outside investors as well as the Firm's own capital in corporate equity, corporate debt, real estate and infrastructure assets world-wide. The work is deal-focused and exciting, and will bring you in contact with a wide range of businesses, industries, investment structures and products.

Private Credit

The Private Credit business at Goldman Sachs Asset Management is one of the world's largest alternative credit investing platforms with approximately $135bn of AUM and investment professionals based in the US, Europe, Asia and Australia. The Private Credit business originates investments across senior secured loans, mezzanine/unsecured debt, preferred equity and opportunistic credit and invests both the firm's capital and capital raised from outside investors across a wide range of industries.

Responsibilities:

• Support investment ideas across the product suite of Credit via early engagement with relevant parties (e.g., financial sponsors / company management teams for the private-side investing platforms)
• Engaging in all aspects of due diligence and business analysis to develop and refine investment theses
• Participating in structuring, negotiating and documenting investments
• Communicating and defending investment theses to internal stakeholders and committees, including relevant Private Credit Investment Committees
• Actively monitoring existing investments in the portfolio
• Building relationships with sponsors, management teams and internal GS stakeholders
• Valuations
• Financial modeling
• Industry and company specific due diligence (research, management meetings, and investor presentations)
• Prepare and present investment memos
• LBO modeling
• Legal documentation & negotiation
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree required; Minimum of 2 years of Investment Banking or Principal Investing experience
• Strong quantitative, financial modeling, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Passion for investing with specific interest in credit / other structured products
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Flexible and creative mindset; ability to analyze a variety of industries and businesses
• Ability to self-direct, analyze and evaluate and form independent judgments
• Ability to interact and build relationships with a wide variety of people
