Job Summary
SHI is searching for an innovative and seasoned Software Architect to steer the architecture and future enhancements of our eCommerce platform. This pivotal role is suited for those with extensive hands-on experience in crafting, scaling, and optimizing intricate eCommerce systems. You will define the architectural vision, promote technical excellence, mentor engineers, and work collaboratively across teams to ensure our eCommerce platform is robust, scalable, secure, and primed for innovation.

Role Description
- Architect & Design: Own the comprehensive architecture for SHI's eCommerce platform, ensuring alignment with business goals, scalability, security, and superior customer experience.
- Technical Leadership: Establish and advocate engineering standards, design patterns, and architectural best practices to raise the standard for clean code, maintainability, and system resilience.
- eCommerce Expertise: Utilize your knowledge of eCommerce platforms (shopping cart, payment, catalog, order management, search, personalization, etc.) to guide system design and modernization initiatives.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with product managers, senior engineers, security, DevOps, and business stakeholders to transform business needs into technical strategies and deliver impactful solutions.
- Mentorship & Influence: Mentor and coach engineers and architects across various teams, guiding technical discussions, providing architectural reviews, and fostering architectural thinking.
- Strategy & Road Mapping: Formulate and continually refine the architectural roadmap for the eCommerce platform, balancing technical debt, innovation, and feature delivery.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement new patterns, practices, and technologies to enhance platform quality, developer efficiency, and business agility.
- Documentation & Communication: Create and maintain high-quality architecture documentation, diagrams, and technical standards, tailored for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- DevOps & Cloud-Native: Guide cloud adoption, CI/CD practices, observability, ensuring the platform is reliable, maintainable, and cost-effective.
- Foster a high-performance development environment to enhance team efficiency, testing, and integration.
- Act as a key contributor for design choices and establish technical and coding standards for software development.
- Lead the software design process based on functional requirements from product teams, customers, and internal stakeholders.
- Consult with project teams and end users to identify and analyze application requirements.
- Design, develop, implement, and deploy new and existing software solutions with a focus on Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS).
- Troubleshoot, identify, and resolve bugs in existing software, designing and releasing fixes as needed.
- Drive continuous improvement of the Software Development Life Cycle and DevOps processes.
- Lead in the creation and maintenance of technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and visualizations.
- Serve as a technical leader by teaching, mentoring, and advancing the organization’s software development practices.

Skill Level Requirements
- Intermediate ability to create clear and effective technical documentation.
- Intermediate understanding of web application functionality, security measures, and best development practices for robust solutions.
- Intermediate skills in designing, developing, and integrating APIs for seamless communication between software applications.
- Intermediate expertise in designing, creating, and maintaining databases for efficient data management.
- Intermediate capability to implement and manage DevOps practices, enhancing collaboration between development and operations.
- Intermediate understanding of structured practices and workflows in the SDLC, from requirements gathering to deployment.
Other Requirements
- Completed Bachelor's Degree or equivalent relevant experience.
- At least 5 years of experience in software development.
- At least 5 years of experience with DevOps methodologies.
- At least 5 years of experience with C#, React, JavaScript, SQL.
- Willingness to travel 10% of the time.
The estimated annual pay range for this position is $150,000 - $200,000, which includes base salary and bonus, contingent on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location. Benefits may include medical, vision, dental, 401K, and flexible spending options.
