Facility Overview:

The facility features a dedicated children's hospital, a women's center with a Level III NICU, and extensive services in emergency care, cardiovascular health, neuroscience, rehabilitation, and surgery. It is affiliated with a nationally recognized healthcare organization known for quality care and innovation.

Role Summary:

The NICU Manager is responsible for ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care by overseeing the daily operations and staffing of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. This leader monitors the delivery of nursing care, ensures regulatory compliance, and promotes a culture of excellence and accountability. The NICU Manager plays a key role in care coordination, patient experience, and staff development, aligning departmental goals with the broader objectives of the facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct unit operations, staffing, and patient care delivery.
  • Promote evidence-based clinical practices and standardization of care.
  • Monitor compliance with internal policies, procedures, and external regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate across departments for interdisciplinary care coordination.
  • Lead efforts to improve patient satisfaction and clinical outcomes.
  • Support staff development, training, and competency-based assignments.
  • Manage unit throughput, admissions, and discharge processes.
  • Participate in initiatives related to accreditation and quality benchmarks.
Qualifications:
  • Education: BSN required.
  • Experience:
    • 3-5+ years of clinical experience in a healthcare setting.
    • Minimum 2 years in a supervisory role within an acute care environment.
  • Licensure:
    • Active RN license in Texas or compact state (with TX licensure obtained within required timeframe).
  • Certifications:
    • BLS required.
    • ACLS preferred.
    • NRP and other specialty certifications preferred (e.g., FHM, RNC-OB).
  • Additional Requirements: Specialty certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
