Position Overview: As a Pediatric Respiratory Therapy Intern, you will work under the guidance of a licensed Respiratory Therapist to provide treatment and care for pediatric patients with respiratory conditions. You will have responsibilities including, but not limited to:
- Setting up and operating therapeutic equipment for respiratory treatment according to specified parameters.
- Providing emergency respiratory care, including artificial ventilation and assistance during code situations.
- Assessing patient needs based on physician orders, including evaluating medication requirements.
- Monitoring patient responses to therapy through vital signs and other parameters, collaborating with healthcare team members as necessary.
- Reviewing prescriptions and patient medical information to provide optimal patient care.
Expectations: You will be an integral part of a multidisciplinary team, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety policies.
Qualifications: Candidates must be currently enrolled in a state-approved respiratory care program and have completed at least one semester of clinical practicum. No prior experience is required.
