QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Education: Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy.
2. Licensure: Valid Ohio Occupational Therapy license, current Ohio Department of Education license for specialty area, and National Board Certification in Occupational Therapy.
3. Competency/Skills:

AGENCY SUMMARY:

At Monarch Center for Autism, you will join a dedicated team of professionals, including Intervention Specialists, Associate Teachers, Speech Language Pathologists, and various therapy specialists. Small classroom sizes ensure personalized instruction through Monarch's unique visual language immersion teaching Model.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Supervisory Occupational Therapist will oversee Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants, evaluate their performance, and contribute to the hiring, disciplinary, and discharge processes. This role is part of an interdisciplinary team, delivering high-quality instruction and therapy services to students requiring Occupational Therapy intervention. The role reports to the Occupational Therapy Director.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

1. Supervise and direct Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants in their responsibilities.
2. Conduct performance evaluations and manage disciplinary actions as necessary.
3. Participate in hiring and discharge discussions for Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants.
4. Conduct assessments and evaluations for children with autism.
5. Attend IEP/ISP meetings and present evaluations.
6. Administer diagnostic assessments for children with autism.
7. Maintain and analyze data through electronic means and daily notes.
8. Develop sensory recommendations for students’ daily activities.
9. Provide family consultations and educational feedback regarding Occupational Therapy.
10. Offer training and consultation to the interdisciplinary team on Occupational Therapy needs.
11. Provide both direct one-on-one therapy and small group sessions.
12. Participate in occupational therapy team meetings.
13. Continuously educate oneself on new research and treatment methods in Occupational Therapy.
14. Contribute to special projects and initiatives, such as conference presentations and educating team members about sensory supports.

OTHER DUTIES:

1. Attend scheduled staff meetings and ongoing training.
2. Keep all required certifications and licensure up to date.
3. Maintain professional conduct and adhere to agency policies.
4. Perform other duties as assigned by management.
