Join our dynamic team as a Solutions Architect, where your strong development experience in a Financial Application Environment will make a significant impact. This position blends Solution Architecture with hands-on development work, primarily focusing on transforming and documenting financial applications. You will be tasked with reverse-engineering legacy systems, meticulously documenting architecture, and guiding applications through a seamless transition to the cloud.

Compensation: $80 - $100/hr W2

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reverse Engineer & Document: Analyze and thoroughly document existing finance applications (approx. 20 custom applications) and their architecture.
  • Development & Modernization: Engage in hands-on coding using C#.NET (primary) and VB.NET (secondary) to comprehend and modernize legacy codebases.
  • Cloud Migration: Actively support the migration efforts of applications to the cloud.
  • Data Integration & ETL: Partner with ADF pipelines, ETL processes, and deepen your understanding of data movement principles.
  • Excel Macro Translation: Reverse-engineer existing Excel macros to gather requirements and propose innovative future-state solutions.
  • Financial Systems Knowledge: Gain insights into SAP GL integrations and prepare for significant upcoming replacement and enterprise data warehouse initiatives.
  • Collaboration: Work in close partnership with three developers while mentoring junior team members in architecture modernization.
  • Reporting & Analytics: Utilize your exposure to Power BI, DAX, SQL, and optionally Python for advanced analytics and reporting.
  • Architecture Documentation: Develop comprehensive Solution Architecture documentation for HR and internal stakeholders.

Experience Requirements:

  • Strong hands-on experience with C#.NET and VB.NET (legacy code review and modernization).
  • Proven ability to reverse-engineer applications and thoroughly document architecture.
  • Working knowledge of financial systems, journal entries, and FP&A processes (preferred).
  • Familiarity with ETL tools, ADF pipelines, and data architecture concepts.
  • Experience with Excel macros, SQL, and exposure to Power BI/DAX.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and capacity to thrive in a hybrid SA/developer role.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Background in FP&A or financial reporting.
  • Knowledge of Python for data manipulation.
  • Experience with cloud migration projects.
  • Prior experience establishing an Enterprise Data Warehouse framework is beneficial for future initiatives.
